The History of Hotel Waldesruh

Rooted in hospitality

The history of Waldesruh

From its opening to the planned expansion in 2027, Waldesruh has kept on growing. Join us on a journey through our history and discover what has shaped our house for generations.

What started small has grown over the years with plenty of heart and hard work. Family hospitality, tradition and a close connection to nature are still what Waldesruh is all about today.

1969: Where it all begins

Elsa and Anton Scheiber found a bed-and-breakfast in Ochsengarten, laying the foundation for today’s Waldesruh.

1969: The first guests arrive

That same year, the bed-and-breakfast opens its doors. This marks the beginning of Waldesruh’s story in Ochsengarten.

1979: From guesthouse to inn

The bed-and-breakfast is expanded into an inn. From now on, it’s not just breakfast on the table, but hearty Tyrolean cuisine too.

1987: In good hands

Franz Scheiber, together with his wife Andrea, takes over his parents’ inn and carries on the family tradition at Waldesruh with great heart and commitment.
